A wise man once said: "Metal is forever!

And although some sub-genres of Metal has been heavily influenced by the commercial scene, Metal will remain an underground scene in most parts of the world. South Africa is no different in that respect, but down here at the bottom tip of the "dark continent" Metal is alive and well, thank you very fucking much!

Our third event in as many months is looming and believe me, we are quite excited about this!! For not only has the event been moved form the third to the last Saturday of every month (fuck yeah!), but we've also managed to get one very special DJ to get those heads banging! Along with Barries & The Bearded Bastard we give you The Skum!! Glen used to be THE Metal DJ around Cape Town, blasting Metal anthems at places like Arties Underground and The Purple Turtle (both in town) & Challengers (in Brackenfell).

Apart from the best Metal has to offer, expect FREE ENTRY ALL NIGHT LONG, massive specials at the bar that run the entire evening, loads of give-aways, Subterania Music (www.subterania.co.za) doing a huge merch stall and all the madness & mayhem that goes hand-in-hand with our events.

Brace yourself folks, this is gonna be a kick-ass event! Hee-ha!

A BRIEF BIT OF HISTORY REGARDING HORUS METALFEST!!

Cape Town Metalheads have been waiting far too long for a regular Metal event and after much deliberation, Barries & I have decided that it’s time to host a monthly Metal event at The Rabbit Hole in Durbanville.

Although Metal4Africa have been flying the metal flag high & proud for some time now, Summer- & Winterfest only happens twice a year. After the awesome attendance at the Horus reunion party we’ve decided to put our plans into motion, a monthly all-metal event where the local Metalheads can party, headbang & mosh to the music we love and worship! We’ve both been heavily involved with Eye Of Horus and the place is still sore missed, hence the name that was chosen.

We plan kick-ass parties for all you metalheads out there, with awesome bar specials, fan-fucking-tastic give-aways, merchandise stalls run & organized by Subterania Music, various guest DJ’s, band “feature evenings”, “meet n greet” evenings with local bands etc. Keep watching this space and tell all your friends about it. It's gonna be EPIC!

For all the Horus MetalFest events there will be FREE entry all night long and MASSIVE specials at the bar that include 2 x double Brandy/Whiskey/Vodka + mix = R25. Brandy Jugs & Fishbowls = R30.

The DJ crew from Eye Of Horus is back, ready to KICK YOUR ASS!!

IMPORTANT INFORMATION!!

Ryno de Villiers (the owner of Eye Of Horus) wants the following to be known: The Eye Of Horus pub will be re-opening again some time in the future. Exactly where & when is unclear at this stage, but he'll notify us about any developments as they happen. We'll keep all the faithful supporters informed via the various Facebook groups & event pages. Due to work commitments in Botswana Ryno won't be able to attend 
any of the Horus Metal Fest events we're organizing, but has given his full support and blessing for this venture. With these events the spirit of Horus will be kept alive until such time that the venue re-opens!!
